These are the defects that turned up again and again while going through contractor sites by hand. The tool is that process, automated.
Content that was never finished
Placeholder paragraphs, 'Slide title', template variables that never got filled in, and links still pointing at the theme vendor's demo site.
A copyright year that gives you away
A footer stuck three years ago, or an auto-generated range, tells every visitor that nobody has touched the site since.
Things that are simply broken
Images with no file attached, links that go nowhere, and forms with no destination set. We follow the links to see which ones actually return an error.
Contact details that do not work
No phone number at all, or — far more common — a number printed in the header that is not the number the tap-to-call link dials.
The basics a phone needs
HTTPS, a mobile viewport, a page title, a search description, and images small enough to load away from wifi.
Signals that cost you trust
A free mailbox as the business contact address, the same menu rendered twice, and paragraphs printed more than once on the same page.
What this is not
It is an automatic check of a single page. It finds defects. It cannot tell you whether your site persuades anyone to call, and it will not invent a problem to look useful — if a check cannot run, we say so rather than guessing.
A clean result is a real result. It means the obvious faults are not there, which is more than most sites in the trades can say.
